Throat- Our Cautionary Review

Happy Saturday! Our review of Throat is finally in...

Throat: A Cautionary Tale - Released by Vivid, 2009 (DVD, BLU-RAY)

This one was a lot more complicated to review than we had anticipated! We originally discovered this movie while watching "Deeper Throat", a 6-episode reality series that aired on ShowTime. The series followed Steve Hirsch of Vivid as he tried to gain the rights to re-make the legendary "Deep Throat" from the nutjobs over at Arrow Productions. Hirsch ultimately does not get the Rights to the title.The series was hilarious and fun to watch so we were excited for this move to be released. This movie was neither hilarious nor fun.

Without ruining the movie, I'll summarize it as follows: A young girl (Sasha Grey) is dead. The movie then begins to explain how this came to be. It starts when she begins performing in a live porn theatre to help make ends meet for her and her boyfriend. While taking instruction from a fellow performer, she discovers that she can orgasm by giving deep throat oral sex. Her boyfriend decides to take advantage of this talent and begins basically whoring her out for money in a garage. She's finally "rescued" by a sex club owner (Evan Stone), but is eventually taken advantage of by him as well. She finally looses it during a live performance at the sex club, and bites the cock of "the biggest porn star in history" (that can be debated!) in a fit of rage. After this, she winds up dead and I won't spoil the movie by saying who did it.

As this was as much a movie as it was a porn, it is quite heard to rate. Overall, we were both disappointed. We were expecting a fun porn movie for couples, and this was a dark and depressing tale. Even we were not turned on by it! The sex scenes were actually quite good, but with all of the other terrible and depressing things going on it was difficult to get into the hardcore, fast and furious action. Well actually, we found it impossible! It felt more like we were watching a movie that anti-porn groups would put out to demote porn. Sounds strange, but I know you'll feel the same way if you see it. I personally didn't like that half way through the movie she starts orgasming through vaginal sex and the whole clitoris in the throat thing kinda goes out the window!

For the most part, the acting is pretty much what you'd expect from a porn movie. We like Evan Stone a lot and he did pretty well in this film. Sasha Grey stole the show however. Aside from her impeccable deep throating skills and super wet blowjobs, she did a great job bringing her character and the story to life. We don't think that Vivid could have casted a better star to play this role. Easily the best acting performance we've ever seen from a porn movie! If you think you've seen better please give us a shout!

If you're looking for a beginner porn film or a porn movie that's going to jumpstart your night, don't buy this! If you'd like to watch a mystery/drama that happens to have a lot of XXX action in it, then this is the perfect movie for you! Ultimately, this website rates porn. We like porn that is exciting, fun, and turns us on. I have to call this a rare strikeout from Vivid and award-winning director Paul Thomas. I give it only 2 stars out of 5.

Invisi-Rider Enhancer, True Blood, and Hung

OK so it's been a few days since the last post, but It's the summer time! We had a bunch of parties to go to this weekend so it's time to get things done today.

I'll start with the Invisi-Rider Enhancer. We used it a few nights ago and we were both very happy with it. The toy is basically a sleeve (3 inches long) that fits over the cock and adds girth. There are 3 metal beads on the top for G-Spot stimulation. I was actually not a fan of the beads as I felt like they were "catching" on something and it caused slight pain. We didn't want to give up that easy though so we turned the Invisi-Rider upside down so the beads were on the bottom and that worked great. It is a very soft toy and inexpensive as it's made from Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) which is probably one of the best all-around sex toy materials on the market today. My boyfriend said that the toy could more or less double as a male masturbator and felt very good to wear. Hung is very funny! The leading man (Thomas Jane) is not a very good actor, but I think he is the perfect person to play the role of Ray Drecker. The show very much plays on the current economic situation and today's society in general in an upbeat way that we both enjoy a lot. Ray Drecker is a Michigan high school teacher and basketball coach who is having trouble making ends meet. He attends an entrepreneur seminar and learns that he needs to find his "winning tool." Ray's winning tool is in his pants and he hooks up with a female member at the seminar who takes on the role of his pimp. It's a riot! Unlike most of HBO's shows, these episodes are only a half an hour long. If you haven't seen this show yet you should definitely check it out!

Totally psyched about another great episode of True Blood last night! Can't wait to see what happens next week. I'm curious to see if Jason and Sookie cross paths in Texas. Too Excited for Throat!

I just had to come on and write about how excited I am to see Throat from Vivid Entertainment! We watched the 6 episode series "Deeper Throat" on ShowTime After Dark and it was an awesome series. I don't know how they would do a second season, but I really hope they find a way.

The show followed Steven Hirsch (co-Chairman of Vivid Entertainment) as he tried to acquire the rights to remake the legendary "Deep Throat." Steven has to deal with the whack-jobs over at Arrow Productions and it is hilarious to see the interactions between the two. This was seriously one of the funniest and most entertaining shows that I've seen in a while!

Arrow Productions is run by a very strange and hard-lined Vietnam Veteran aptly named Raymond Pistol. The things that this guy does are too strange and funny for words! Raymond does not have too much interaction with Vivid, and instead sends his "VP" Robert Interlandi. Robert is a young punk and I loved watching Steven Hirsch set him straight.

They showed a little bit about the making of "Throat" and it appears to be a pretty interesting movie. Being based off of the 1972 classic, this movie appears to have a lot more of a storyline to it than most porn movies today. And if nothing else, the concept looks quite unique!

Hi Everyone! This is Cate and John, but we're not the ones from TLC!!
